St Albans City & District have just closed their consultation on their proposed local plan. In it they propose to expand Hemel Hempstead into their District to the tune of 5500+ new homes (all on Green Belt and representing 44.9% of planned development in their plan), despite the fact that Hemel Hempstead is a Dacorum town – forcing all the problems of infrastructure etc onto Dacorum, while accounting for the numbers in their Local Plan thus forcing Dacorum to look for building opportunities away from Hemel, which will clearly put more pressure on Berkhamsted and Tring.
